Introduction
Farm to future: a legacy reimagined
This master-planned development born out of experience transforms a historic site—from family farm to industrial hub—into a vibrant, multi-functional community. Blending agrarian roots with industrial character, it unites residential, commercial, cultural, and recreational spaces in a cohesive vision.
- Varied structure types
- Based on agricultural story
- Farm-to-table in concept
- Master plan
Once an iconic industrial structure on the site, the Canary Building has been thoughtfully transformed into the vibrant central hub of the master planned community. Its bold, historic façade—marked by expansive windows, weathered brick, and steel accents—anchors the marketplace with a commanding presence that honors the site’s industrial past while embracing a dynamic future. Surrounding the Canary Building, pedestrian plazas, outdoor seating, and landscaped green spaces foster vibrant social interaction and seamlessly connect the marketplace to the broader master plan. This building is not just a market — it is the beating heart of the community, where commerce, culture, and connection thrive.
Former farmhouse concept is reimagined as a vibrant farm-to-table restaurant and bar, blending historic architecture with modern design. The existing garden is transformed into a lush, working kitchen garden that supplies fresh ingredients and creates a dynamic connection between food, community, and the land’s heritage.
Quonset hut experience, once a utilitarian farm and industrial structure, is reimagined as a vibrant brewery. Preserving its distinctive curved steel form, the design incorporates thoughtful daylighting through skylights and clerestory windows, creating a warm, energy-efficient atmosphere that blends industrial character with modern comfort.
Summary
This master planned development transforms the ‘experience’ of an historic family farm turned industrial site into a vibrant, mixed-use community that honors its agrarian roots and industrial heritage. Key features include a repurposed Quonset hut brewery with thoughtful daylighting, a farmhouse-turned farm-to-table restaurant that integrates a working kitchen garden, and a welcoming farm-inspired entrance marked by an exposed barn structure. Together, these elements create a dynamic environment where history, community, and sustainability converge.
