A contemporary Interpretation of Tuscan living

Project Notes
  • 10,400 SF
  • Rooted in Tuscan architectural language
  • Articulating volumes and facades create village context
  • Focus around rear courtyard

Casa' Gioiosa articulates a harmonious fusion of timeless Tuscan vernacular and contemporary architectural expression. The composition employs varied roof heights and angled slopes, crafting a dynamic, sculptural silhouette that commands presence within its site. Facades are meticulously articulated through layered volumes, textured surfaces, and subtle modulation—invoking the stratified complexity and patina of an evolved hillside village. This interplay of massing and materiality not only enhances spatial depth and tactile richness but also cultivates a narrative of place, memory, and craftsmanship.

At the heart of the home, the rear courtyard opens to a refined pool and curated rose beds, offering a quiet retreat that balances structure with softness. Casa' Gioiosa embraces contrast—between tradition and modernity, openness and enclosure, simplicity and richness—resulting in a residence that feels both rooted and radiant.

Casa' Gioiosa expresses a refined synthesis of Tuscan vernacular and contemporary design, anchored by a deliberate H-plan configuration that organizes the home’s programmatic elements with clarity and poise. This architectural strategy defines two distinct wings—typically accommodating private functions—linked by a central connective volume that serves as the social and spatial heart of the residence. The H-plan not only enables a fluid circulation sequence and intuitive zoning but also establishes a series of courtyards and framed vistas that blur the boundaries between interior and landscape. This arrangement enhances passive ventilation, optimizes daylighting, and cultivates a dynamic interplay between openness and enclosure.
